MAINLAND ECUADOR

THE REGIONS

Mainland Ecuador is divided into four distinct natural regions, each offering its own unique landscapes and experiences. The Andes stretch through the heart of the country with majestic volcanoes, colonial cities, and vibrant Indigenous culture. To the east, the Amazon invites travelers into a lush, biodiverse rainforest alive with wildlife and ancestral traditions. The Cloud Forest bridges the highlands and the lowlands, cloaked in mist and rich with rare birds and orchids. On the Pacific Coast, sun-soaked beaches, lively fishing towns, and fresh seafood offer a laid-back, tropical contrast. Together, these regions make Ecuador one of the most ecologically and culturally diverse countries in the world.
